How to Make an Exfoliating Face Mask

If you are looking for that perfect skin care treatment that moisturizes, exfoliates and clears acne, you may find yourself shelling out a lot of cash, if you can find it at all. Instead, why not make your own exfoliating face mask at home? It's fun, easy and less expensive than anything you will find in the store. Read on to learn how to make an exfoliating face mask.

Scoop 2 tbsp. of brown sugar into a small bowl. Brown sugar is used in many skin care products as it is made with some of the world's finest oils. As if it's great taste and smell weren't enough, it also moisturizes and rejuvenates skin as it gently exfoliates and removes dead skin cells.

Add 2 tbsp. of natural honey to the bowl. Honey is a common ingredient in a variety of skin care products. Honey is known to kill germs, clean pores and reduce swelling and inflammation around the eyes. Adding honey to your face mask will help prevent wrinkles, and keep your skin healthy and beautiful.

Squeeze the juice from one half of a fresh lemon juice into the exfoliating face mask mixture and stir well. Lemon is a natural astringent and will help to balance combination skin, gently cleansing without over-drying skin. Adding lemon juice to your face mask will not only help to clear clogged pores, it will help to reduce the size of pores, preventing and curing blackheads.

Wash your face and neck with warm water and pat dry. Apply the exfoliating face mask evenly and gently massage into your skin for at least five minutes. Allow the face mask to set for an additional 10 or 15 minutes before rinsing with cool water and patting dry. Repeat this face mask as often as necessary to maintain healthy, glowing skin.
